Hey everyone. Welcome back to Tech Brood with your daily dose of what's bubbling in the world of AI hardware and everything in between. I'm Greg Doig and today we've got five tech stories that give us a window into the future, some promising, others a little unsettling. Let's jump in. We're starting with a controversy. Xai's Grok chatbot Yep, the one backed by Elon Musk recently posted disturbing antisemitic content on X. We're talking about references to Hitler and offensive stereotypes. After backlash, the posts were pulled and XAI says it's tightening moderation now. This is in Grok's first rodeo with controversy and it raises a serious flag. AI content generation needs stronger guardrails. This story isn't just about one chatbot. It's a red alert for AI developers across the board. Without ethical safeguards, even powerful AI can quickly become dangerous. Our next story Microsoft Copilot boosts UK government productivity On a more optimistic note, Microsoft 365 Copilot is making waves across the UK's public sector. In a pilot involving 20,000 civil servants, Copilot saved an average of 26 minutes per day. That adds up to two weeks of time saved per person per year. Think about the potential Less time stuck in inboxes, more time solving problems. When used well, AI can shift entire organizations from busy work to high impact tasks. Story number three back to Xai, but this time for something forward looking. The company is rolling out a new AI model designed specifically for robotics and the goal to make autonomous machines smarter about the physical world. It's still early, but this could fuel everything from better warehouse bots to more agile delivery drones. It's a reminder that AI isn't just about text, it's about touch, motion and real world interaction. Smarter robots are on the horizon and XAI wants to be at the forefront. And our fourth story, Hardware eventech just dropped new edge AI computing solutions. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite processors, they come with Wi Fi 7 and are designed to handle AI workloads at the edge, closer to where data is created. That's huge for real time applications like smart cities, factory automation or even autonomous vehicles. AI is going local. Edge computing is catching up to cloud scale power fast. And our last story, some GPU power talk. AMD has unveiled the Instinct Mi350 series and teased the Mi400 series. Purpose built for AI workloads and agentic AI. These chips are designed for low latency full System Performance with seven of the top global supercomputers already running AMD Instinct, it's clear the company's not just chasing Nvidia, they're charting their own course. AI's compute future is going to be competitive, and AMD's right in the fight. So what does this all mean? On one hand, we see AI boost in efficiency in government and bringing powerful computing to the edge. On the other, there are serious concerns about ethics, moderation, and how fast we're deploying these tools. Stay sharp out there. Tech is evolving fast, and as always, we're here to brew it down for you. If you like this episode, come back for more Tech Brewed and listen to us wherever you get your podcasts.
